Signal was engaged by Silverstream School to carry out a
condition assessment of the school's buildings, infrastructure and
grounds, and to subsequently prepare, based on information
gathered from the assessment, the school's 10 Year Property
Plan for future development.
Projects completed to date include converting a woodwork room
into an open shared teaching space including installation of double
glazed windows and doors to provide improved access to new outdoor
teaching areas.
The second phase of redevelopment was the replacement of the
school's coal-fired boiler system and replacement of the boiler
electrical supply and control system.
Phase three involved the redevelopment of the senior block
of the school. This included refurbishment of teaching areas,
replacement of the existing roof, rationalising internal
circulation space and creating covered exterior teaching areas, all
in line with the Ministry of Education's 'modern learning
environment' iniative.
Signal is continuing its relationship with Silverstream School
and is now managing other projects associated with implementation
of its 10 Year Property Plan.
