Classroom Block and Infrastructure Upgrade
Signal Management Group were initially engaged by Fernworth
School to manage the planning, design and construction of a new
four classroom block, relocation and upgrade of two existing
classrooms and a Special Needs Facilities for Fernworth
Primary.
The project also required the upgrade of infrastructure
services, particularly the boiler and electrical capacity.
Reading Recovery Centre
In this subsequent stage, the school engaged Signal to manage
the relocation and upgrade of the Reading Recovery Centre. This
building was originally located at the Elston Lea school site.
The building is fully integrated with the school's existing
facilities and is serviced by direct access from Pomona Street. A
drive in drop off access has been formed providing car parking
facilities for use by the Reading Recovery Centre staff and members
of the public.
Dental Clinic
In a further stage of development at the school, Signal managed
the placement of another existing classroom in close proximity to
the Reading Recovery Centre. This is utilised as a Dental Clinic
for the greater Southland District catchment area.
The classroom has been redeveloped to incorporate two dental
surgeries, a utility area, staff room, reception area and
amenities. The clinic also shares the drive in drop off access and
car parking facilities used for the Reading Recovery Centre.
Condition Assessment and 10 Year Property
Plan
Signal's relationship with Fernworth Primary School continues
with Signal having been appointed by the school to complete a
building condition assessment and 10 Year Property Plan, as
required by the Ministry of Education.
