Project Planning
"Failing to plan is planning to fail"
It’s hard hitting but it’s true. The foundation of every successful project is established during the initial planning when the project can be set in the right direction.
It is during this time when the greatest opportunity exists to implement decisions that have the most influence on the project’s performance. Effort invested "up front" has the greatest potential to save money and time on a project.
A guiding philosophy of Signal Management Group’s Project Planning service is the establishment of a clear "Project Strategy" that divides the project into a series of logical phases with clearly identified "hold points".
This methodology minimises the cost exposure for our clients and focuses on developing the appropriate information to enable timely decisions as to how to progress the project.
This is combined with an early rigorous testing of projects for physical, functional, legal and financial viability to ensure our clients project and business objectives will be achieved.
Signal's Project Planning typically involves working closely with clients to develop their brief and managing the engagement of designers for initial "concept" design work to illustrate the function and form of the project. Preliminary cost estimates and cashflow projections are prepared together with analysis of programme options and investigation of Resource Consent and Building Consent requirements.
When the project is approved for construction Signal's Project and Construction Management service manages the detailed design, tendering, construction and commissioning of the project.
