School Rebuild Underway

The demolition of a damaged library building to make way for a new teaching block marks the start of a major $7M rebuild programme for St Mark's School in Opawa, Christchurch.

St Mark's is an integrated co-ed school for Years 1 - 8 with about 200 students.  The school experienced significant damage in the Canterbury earthquakes with one classroom building demolished following the 2011 earthquake and two other buildings (the library and hall) having been out of action since.

Signal Management Group is managing the staged design and construction of the rebuild which includes a new four-classroom teaching block and strengthening and redevelopment of the school's remaining existing buildings.
